The aim of the Exercise Plan (EXPLAN) is toamplify the exercise specification, to provideguidance and direction to the (remainder of the)planning phase, as well as for the implementationand the evaluation of the exercise andthe exercise process.The EXPLAN is drafted to facilitate understandingby all exercise participants – military,civilians and police alike. It also providesadditional guidance and assistance to the sites.The Main Body of the EXPLAN is structured toreflect the four main phases of the exercise:• Exercise Concept and SpecificationDevelopment• Exercise Planning and Development• Exercise Implementation• Exercise EvaluationDetailed information and instructions regardingthe key aspects of VIKING 18 are found in theAnnexes and Appendices.The latest version of the EXPLAN can always befound on the Exercise Planning Portal(https://planex.mil.se).
